Cryotherapy

What is Cryotherapy?

Treating the skin with extreme cold temperatures has been around for over 100 years.  Carbon Dioxide also known as CO2 used frozen can remove skin tags and dark spots.  This method has been clinically proven to be safe and effective on a wide range of benign skin lesions.

How it works?

By Spraying Carbon Dioxide onto the skin it freezes superficially at -79 C.  This will only effect the epidermal layers of the skin.  Because of this being a shallow but effective depth to freeze, cryotherapy greatly minimizes the risk of blistering, scarring and hypopigmentation that is usually associated with colder forms of cryotherapy. In as little as one treatment you can treat skin tags, age spots and sun spots on sensitive areas and skin.

What to expect.

Cryotherapy gently freezes dead skin cells in the upper layer of the skin to treat age spots, sun spots and skin tags.  Cryotherapy takes about 10 minutes to complete, is painless, and there is no downtime from your normal activities after the treatment.   90% of clients will see complete resolution after their first cryotherapy treatment.

You can expect the treated area to turn darker for a few days and then see pink healthy tissue appear as your body heals the treated area.

The treated area will immediately turn darker.  Some people may experience tingling or itching for a few hours after the treatment.  The treatment site will remain dark for about 10 days when you body will slough off the dead tissue.  Next you will see pink healthy tissue which will return to your normal skin color in a few weeks.  In some cases it can take 4 to 6 weeks to return to normal pigmentation color.

Are there any post treatment recommendations?

Keeping the area hydrated is very important.  I also recommend having a SPF30 or more physical block.  This treatment has no lifestyle changes!

Can people with sensitive skin do this?

Yes!  Because of the gentle freeze it is safe for people with sensitive skin.
