Laser Hair Removal
What is Laser Hair Removal?
Let's get you beach ready! Laser hair removal is a fast and effective way to make your life easier! NO DOWNTIME and you don’t have to grow out hair out prior to treatment (I want you to shave right before the treatment). This is a medical procedure that uses a concentrated beam of light (laser) to remove unwanted hair.
How does it work?
During laser hair removal, a laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat, which damages the tube-shaped sacs within the skin (hair follicles) that produce hairs. This damage inhibits or delays future hair growth. Each pulse of the laser takes a fraction of a second and can treat many hairs at the same time. The laser can treat an area approximately the size of a quarter every second. Small areas such as the upper lip can be treated in less than a minute, and large areas, such as the back or legs, may take up to an hour.
What should I expect duing and after the treatment?
Gel will be placed on the clean skin. This may feel cool but once the laser starts you will notice it start to warm up and may experiance a light snapping feeling with heat. After you might notice redness and swelling for the first few hours. To reduce any discomfort, apply ice to the treated area.
Hairs do not fall out immediately, but you will shed them over a period of days to weeks. Although it takes 6 treatments on average for results, you will notice the hair growth will start to slow after the first few treatments.
